Peru and Argentina are home to extraordinary environments where nature, water and unique conditions give Mar Andino Steelhead Trout its distinctive identity.
Origin is an essential part of Mar Andino Steelhead Trout. Our production takes place in some of South America’s most remarkable landscapes, from high-altitude lakes in the Peruvian Andes to the waters of Argentinian Patagonia. These distinct geographies share exceptional natural conditions and a close connection with water, a fundamental element for fish welfare and product quality.
In Peru, Punrun and Choclococha are home to farming operations located more than 4,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of the Andean highlands. In Argentina, Piedra del Águila, in Patagonia, provides another exceptional origin for Steelhead Trout production. In each location, Mar Andino adapts its practices to the characteristics of the environment, operating under international standards and a vision of responsible and sustainable aquaculture.
From these remote origins, Mar Andino Steelhead Trout reaches markets and kitchens around the world. Its story begins long before it reaches the table: in the quality of its waters, the distinctive characteristics of each origin and an approach to aquaculture that seeks to respect and value the places where it is raised. From the Andes and Patagonia to the world, Steelhead shaped by its remarkable origins.
